8 Big Disadvantages | Limitations of Aakash Tablet

The student friendly Aakash tab has been a talk among the blogs and social media for its cheaper price. Many readers asked about the limitations of aakash tab, the lowest priced tablet ever (Rs. 2500),. If you're planning to buy an aakash tab, keep these points in mind.

Disadvantages:
  1. Battery Life : It comes with a 2100mAh battery which lasts upto 4 hours if you are reading EBooks but if you watching HD Movies than it will last upto 3 hours which is really low than all the major tablets out there in the market.
  2. Less Processor Speed : Processor is the main module of any gadget and if its not good than you can imagine how gadget would be well Aakash Tablet comes with a small processor and it can result in loss of speed. No Webcam : The tablet doesn't come with camera so videos chatting is not possible on the go. If you are a serious chatting geek than you should now that you cannot make video calls with this tablet use External cam for it.
  3. Non availability of support: There are customer care centers which are available in a few metro-cities only. If you got a problem with your device, then you're locked.
  4. Poor display and touch experience: It doesn't make sense to expect a HD multi touch screen on the cheaper device, but I should say that the display quality is worse than you think. Also, benefits such as pinch zooming will not work on its resistive touch screen.
  5. Heat Up Problem : Due to its low material major problem which people saw in Aakash Tablet was the Heating Problem, its heats up really quickly so this is the major point to check out.
  6. Bad Display & Touch Experience : So now with this tablet do not imaging that you are going to experience the iPhone touch in this one, simply saying the touch sucks well I will compare the touch with Chinese phones so this is the major point to check out.
  7. No Bluetooth - 3G - GPRS : You just have the support to use Wi-Fi or the Dongles out there which use the USB Source to access internet, so do not think that you are going to activate the GPRS Internet plans and than going to enjoy internet on this device. But in upcoming model You can get GPRS.
  8. No Android Market : Aakash comes with Android 2.2 but you can’t access Android marketplace to download new apps and games.

What To DO:

If you wanna get maximum juice of your money then its better to wait till Feb-March ’12 when Aakash-2, the improved version of Aakash would be available in the market. It’ll have better configuration, powerful battery, inbuilt camera, full access to Android marketplace and lots more features.
The best part of Aakash-2 is the cost, which will remain at Rs 1500 for students and Rs 3000 for others. So just wait and watch....

  3. Akash will turn out to be a scam of giving taxpayer money to datawind. Most Indian schools do not have broadband connection and a tablet will not be useful for students. Since last 2 years we are only reading about Akash but nothing significant on the ground.
