340 Trillion Trillion Trillion Internet Connections, More than Stars In The Universe

According to Wednesday CNN Report now there are 340 trillion trillion trillion internet connections. It is only due to switching from IPv4 to IPv6. We knew the switch from IPv4 to IPv6 would make a bunch of new addresses available.

Need of IPv6:

Internet users are increasing day by day. Now Internet is running out of addresses, and if nothing were done, you certainly would notice. New devices simply wouldn't be able to connect. To prevent that from happening, the Internet Society has been working for years to launch a new Internet Protocol (IP) standard called IPv6. There is a growth of 79 octillion (billion billion billion) connectios, according to the report.

Many companies like Google have already been supporting IPv6 for some time, today sees the technology officially and widely turned on alongside IPv4. That doesn’t mean IPv6 addresses for everyone – systems and hardware like modems, routers and computers may need software upgrades or even physical replacement, depending on age – but it does pave the way for the next groundswell in connectivity.

Do you Know how much 340 trillion trillion trillion is:

  • It is More than the number of gallons of water on Earth.
  • It is More than the number of stars in the universe.
  • It is More than the number of cells in the human body.
